Dragon Moon Pegasus

Artist: Meg Hart

A sugar sweet person on a TV show I love said recently, "a garden should be your version of heaven". When I was a kid, medieval castles seemed made of such pure magic I felt compelled to research and memorize their many parts in my free time. I knew my garden beds needed to include one, and a vicious dragon threatening to destroy it, so I'd never take my castle for granted.

Over Covid-19 isolation summer, my husband and I spent a sweet time watching the stars while we were camping. The only other light was a tiny glowing Coke machine in the distance. I'm thankful to have a second moon watching over me every night, in all her stages at once.

Creating a life giving, stress reducing, self sufficiency increasing garden during quarantine was one joy of the spring. I began with this archway, adorning it with personal symbologies in a folk art style that inspires warmth and reminds me of beloved trips to Mexico. A pegasus and possum are my very favorite parts of this piece.
